2005 production of Arne Jacobsen’s iconic Swan chair designed for SAS Hotel in Copenhagen. Arne designed all furniture, the building itself, and only commissioned art pieces to be done by someone else. Both the egg chair and the swan were used in the lobby and the rooms of the hotel.
Swan chair was revolutionary at the time because of new materials – being able to mold to any shape – hence the smooth gracious lines of the chair.
Fun fact: on the frame of the shell itself under the upholstery is a matching serial and the date of production.
Expertly reupholstered at Dynasty Upholstery in Los Angeles with Holly Hunt Teddy Alpaca fabric in color 1969/02 Buff. Passes 55,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs. Pile Composition: 45% Alpaca, 25% Wool, 14% Cotton, 9% Polyester, 7% Nylon.
Incredibly smooth feel to the touch, very cozy, very inviting look for any room. Original brushed aluminum swiveling four-star base with original gliders, no work has been done there.
