Excellent sideboard in beautifully grained teak wood by Danish designer Arne Vodder. Typical highly refined details can be found on this sideboard, for example, the characteristic drawers and the handles. Highly versatile item with plenty of storage space. Very rare and special detail of this cabinet is that the doors are finished on both sides, one is in teak veneer, and the other side, is matte black and matte coated with solid rosewood handles. Therefore, you can decorate this credenza to your own taste. Piece also has seldom seen top storage, reversible sliding, doors
Arne Vodder (1926-2009) should be counted among the most influential Scandinavian midcentury designers, although he is not as well-known as for instance Hans Wegner or Arne Jacobson. Once a student to famous furniture designer Finn Juhl, who later became his friend and business partner. Vodder started out as an architect who designed low-cost housing, later on he began designing furniture. Although his designs are anything but low-quality, his aim for functional design that could be used by all remained important. He designed amongst others for Fritz Hansen & Siba.
