This large Flower-shaped Murano glass chandelier designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega. The fixture has four large two tones in transparent and smoked Murano glass plates in the shape of petals, which gives a beautiful effect when the chandelier illuminates your interior. This piece comes from designer Carlo Nason. 60 textured pieces surrounding the four bulbs are unique and elegant in their form. When illuminated, this diffuses the light beautifully while highlighting the care and attention-to-detail taken when creating this piece. I love how the shapes could be both a ‘C’ or ‘N’ for Carlo Nason and how they each lock in to each other.

In full working condition and ready to use. Equipped with European wiring, it can support voltage up to 230v, which is commonly used in the Netherlands. Edison 3 x E14, 1 x E27 bulb fittings are an EU-denominated size, but can also be bought in the US. We do recommend buyers from the US to consults an experienced electrician for proper installation.

Carlo Nason, Fascino Multi Stemmed Brass Chandelier

It was during last summer, a dinner on Carlo’s mansion over the lagoon, I naively asked Carlo if he would like to make a brass chandelier design for me and the lab I use.
Carlo Nason is on the lighting designer wall of fame, known worldwide for his innovative designs in glass during the roaring decades of Italian design. He worked on some metal projects. I remember the Nana collapsible desk Lamp made for Lumenform, in a Memphis style.
Caro took the challenge and next day he showed me his sketches. The idea is not to group the arms into a base and a common pole stem, but to have all the arms becoming stems. Like a bundle of stems, in Italian fascio or fascina, so the wordplay name Fascino (Charm) for the chandelier.
The lab owner was thrilled to be working on a Carlo Nason design as well as I am honored.
Each arm diverges with a different arm and can be rotated on its axis. The result is a random orientation of the light output. In one picture I placed all on one side and one on the other, just to show the infinitive possibilities of this design, There is brass a disc to keep the upraising arms parallel. Shades are in black painted aluminum. There will be an ivory version soon.
A wonderful midcentury interpretation.

An elegant designer light set consisting of two chandeliers made of white glass, wood and metal frame by designer Carlo Nason for Mazzega, perfect wood, some signs of time on the metal disk above the glass, the chain and rosette have been replaced, but the originals are also sold in the set.

Carlo Nason (1935 Murano), is a famous Italian glass artist who uses historical techniques to produce inventive lamps, vases and sculptures. Born in 1935 in Murano, his works are in the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
