Trolley cart by Joe Colombo c.1970s, Italy. This unique plastic cart has three shallow swivel drawers and two shelves. The opposite side of the cart has three open drawers for storage. The top of this piece is divided into two shallow sections, one rectangular and one square. These carts are perfect for the collector or crafter with many storage areas.

Sur roulettes, et grâce à sa polyvalence il a trouvé sa place également dans beaucoup de corporation de métiers( Atelier, Cave, Salon de Coiffure Magasin, etc….)
Il a gardé une belle couleur hormis quelques traces d’usures.
Ses roulettes fonctionnent très bien.
Look Space Age Boby est en plastique ABS moulé par injection.
Très facile d’entretien.
Récompensé par le Musée d’Art Moderne

JOE COLOMBO
Italie (1930-1971
Véritable emblème du design italien, Joe Colombo a étudié la peinture à l’Académie des Beaux-arts de Brera puis l’architecture à l’École polytechnique de Milan.
À la mort de son père en 1958, il reprend l’usine familiale, une expérience permettant au jeune designer d’expérimenter de nouvelles techniques de production et nouveaux matériaux tels que la fibre de verre, le PVC ou le polyéthylène. Sa carrière décolle lorsqu’il ouvre son propre studio de design en 1962.
Ses œuvres sont caractérisées par un style futuriste avec le luminaire « Acrilica » ou les fauteuils « Elda » et « Tube chair ». Novateur, il est le premier à avoir utilisé le plastique moulé d’un seul bloc pour sa célèbre chaise « Universale ».

The Tea Trolley 901 was originally designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek in 1936. It was the simplest of his tea trolley designs, combining British tea culture with Japanese architecture and woodworking styles. This example is an Italian made version by the company Alivar, who produced a small batch of Aalto furniture in the 1970s and 1980s. According to Artek 2nd cycle, these Alivar pieces are seldom seen and built very well.

Scandinavian modern Oorganic vintage tea cart 900 by Alvar Aalto for Artek designed 1937 Finland and manufactured 1980s.
A wonderful timeless tea cart or bar cart by Alvar Aalto model 900 from birchwood with white tiles, white wheels and a willow basket.
1937 this model was designed for the Parisian World exhibition and started with its worldwide success.
A symbiose between sleek Scandinavian Modern culture and simple Japanese inspired design features – this bar cart was created to a become a design icon.
Very good condition with signs of age and use.

For his furniture designs Alvar Aalto mainly used wood.
Alvar Alto was influenced by Bauhaus and Deutscher Werkbund.
He loved the organic architecture and a close connection from landscapes and buildings.
Le Corbusier, Fernand Leger, Walter Gropius, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and
Nils-Gustav Hahl Artek were connected in friendship with the couple Aalto and also in business.
1933 Artek and the couple Alto founded a furniture manufacturing.
From 1940 Alvar Aalto was professor for architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.

Cart mod. Tea Trolley 900 in light wood, wicker and white ceramic. The rectangular top features square white ceramic tiles and a raised wooden profile. On one side there is a square-based woven wicker basket, it can be used as magazine rack. The structure is made up of curved wooden slats. On the front it has two white painted wooden wheels with black rubber profile. It can also be used as a coffee table.
Produced by Artek in approx. 1970s and designed by Alvar AAlto.
Good condition, light scattered marks.
