Made by Drevopodnik Holesov, a Czech brand established in 1958. Furniture from Holešov was often used in public buildings and facilities such as hotels, embassies, theaters and even the former Federal Assembly. To this day, the brand’s works continue to be highly influential among furniture enthusiasts, especially for their laminated wood workmanship.

This set of chairs dates from the second half of the 20th century and was made in Czechoslovakia. The chairs have the original upholstery in very good condition. The construction is made of quality maple wood, which has been carefully treated and its polish has been revived. It has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process.

The chairs have a very stable and solid construction, which ensures their long life and comfortable use. The chairs were made by Dřevopodnik Holešov according to the design of architect Ludvík Volák. This architect also designed other pieces of furniture, including a room wall and a coffee table, which were designed to complement these chairs.

These restored 1920s Chesterfield wingback armchairs are a sight to behold. The hand-dyed brown leather exudes a rich and luxurious feel, showcasing the impeccable craftsmanship of yesteryears. The careful restoration process involved washing back the old colour, followed by multiple layers of hand-dyed treatments using traditional techniques.

To achieve the exquisite antique finish, the leather was dyed by hand six times, allowing the colour to seep into every crevice and grain of the hide. This painstaking process results in a unique depth of colour that modern methods cannot replicate.

The combination of traditional craftsmanship, luxurious materials, and attention to detail makes these Chesterfield wingback armchairs a true statement piece that will elevate any living space.

The armchair is from the 70s and the cushions are still filled with down. The stool is from the 90s and filled with foam.

The seat shell was stabilized on the underside with a metal plate. This has the advantage that no damage can occur to the most sensitive area. The leather on the armrests is slightly porous. Otherwise very nice vintage condition.
