Restoration report:
This Polifemo floor lamp was found as is shown in the last photo missing its upper cone shaped shade and its plexiglass diffuser eye
We sourced another original 1950’s Arredoluce Floorlamp that had the identical upper cone diffuser part and had it merged on the Polifemo by an Italian expert light restorer
The plexiglass eye is a replacement part as most of the original eye’s got dis formed or broken by the heat of the lamp, an LED lamp now prevents this form happening again
The lamp was rewired with new electric wire and the original Arredoluce marked brass 2 way switch got new old stock switches
With respect to its as found original look we gave the old brass a very light polish preserving its beautiful aging patina and authentic look
