Exquisite 21-piece lusterware tea set hand-painted with detailed flowers, cross-hatch pattern, and Art Deco handles. Gold, peach, pink, teal, light blue, dark blue, deep orange, yellow, green, and white with the luster finish make these a colorful, eye-catching set. It was made circa the 1930s or 1940s and marked “Japan” on the undersides. The set includes a teapot with a lid, creamer, a sugar bowl with a lid, six teacups, six saucers, and six appetizer/luncheon plates. Perfect for an afternoon tea, luncheon, or party. It would look incredible in any kitchen or dining. room.
This is European or American size, not small like a Japanese tea set. Please note that all measurements are approximate. The teapot measures 6″ tall and 8.5″ from handle to spout; the covered sugar is 4.5″ tall and 5.5″ wide from handle to handle; the creamer is 3.25″tall and 4.75″ from spout to end of the handle; teacups are 2.25″ tall; saucers are 5.5″ in diameter; plates are 7.25″ in diameter. Each piece is eggshell thin and very delicate. It has survived the years with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Twenty-one pieces make this set perfect for entertaining with a vintage Asian flare.
