This hand-colored engraving, “A view of Royal Palace of Hampton Court,” is after work by Jacques Rigaud (1681 – 1754), engraved by Remigius Parr (1723 – 1760), and published by Robert Sayer (1725-1794). Circa 1860 -1865. It is double matted in a 20th century frame.
At some point, the lower margin with identifying information was trimmed. The remaining edges and plate marks are inked. There is light foxing to the print and surface loss to the frame but presents well
The framed piece measures 19.75 in. x 13.75 in. x .75 in. The plate impression is about 15.75 in. x 9.75 in. and the site is 14.75 in. x 8.75 in.
There is another engraving, “A South View of Westminster Abby & St. Margaret’s Church“ that is identical in size and framing that is also listed.
